About the event
Photographer Viktor Sýkora , a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, UK in Prague, will give a lecture. For several years he worked as a guest photographer of the Theater under Palmovka. He currently works as a researcher at the Center for Experimental Biomodels of the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. He mainly focuses on microphotography.
He presented his photographs at many solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the author of the popular science books The Secrets of Plants (Academia, 2009) and The Invisible Human World (Academia, 2015), which contain a fascinating insight into the microworld of plants, animals and structures.
At the same time, he is the recipient of a number of Czech and international awards, e.g. German Prize for Scientific Photography 2014 and 2013 (Bremen, Germany), Science is beautiful (Prague, Czech Republic), where he became the absolute winner, Art in science (Copenhagen, Denmark), where he won the 1st prize in the category Humor in science or the Royal Photographic Society's science photographer of the year (London, Great Britain) – Top ten.
He has also published in renowned journals such as National Geography and Science.
